The quality, and thus the value of a cut diamond, is determined by the principle of 4C Carat (weight), Color (color), Clarity (purity), and Cut. Even in the 1960s, the wholesale prices of diamonds (transparent, perfectly clean, round cut) were at the level of $ 2700 per carat and in 2015 it was $ 29,000.

Eventually, they were brought to the surface of the Earth by deep volcanic eruptions.

The beautiful Eureka diamond was first discovered in South Africa by a 15-year-old boy named Erasmus Stephanus in 1867. This 21.25 carat diamond as raw material was found near Hopetown on the Orange River. Today, this cut and polished beautiful diamond weighs only 10.73 carats. This is because the diamond loses up to 50% of its weight during the cutting and polishing process.
